One of the best coaches of the new generation in Greece. Aris Lykogiannis made his name by winning successive promotions to the lower division of Greece, leading 3 different teams from B’division to A2. In 2009 he joined Ikaros half way through the year and managed to take them to A2 in the same season and then the following season directly to the Greek A1, despite being a rookie team.
In his first year in the Greek A1, Lykogiannis lead Ikaros into a great season, finishing with 10 wins (a record for a rookie team) and almost reaching play offs. Also known for selecting American players whose career exploded after a season with him (Aaron Baynes from Ikaros to Olympia Ljubljana in Euroleague and now at San Antonio Spurs in the NBA and Deon Thompson from Ikaros now to Alba Berlin in Euroleauge)
Lykogiannis is known for his hard work and discipline on court. Very passionate with his job, spends hours working and preparing his team and has shown that he can handle pressure and critical situations, leading his teams to success. This season is leading Solna Vikings to a great season in Sweden, competing for a top 4 finish, despite having one of the lowest budgets in the league.
