After a great season with Bilbao and Panellinios respectively, Dimitris Mavroeidis (photo left) and Vassilis Xanthopoulos were rewarded with their fist call in the Greek Men's National Team. Last weekend, the two players their first senior appearances with the Greek NT in Cyprus, where the European Basketball Tour tournament was held.Greece won all three games against Italy, Israel and Russia and apart from Mavroeidis, other FCM players were also involved, as well as assistant coach Dimitris Priftis. Armani Milano's center Giannis Bouroussis was exceptional against Russia, scoring 13 points and grabbing 6 rebounds, Vassilis Xanthopoulos was the starting point guard, averaging almost 5 assists per match and Kostas Vasiliadis returned from his minor injury to give solutions with his long range shooting ability.
